WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ - US President Donald Trump said that he was "facing a big decision on whether to destroy the Iranian regime or seek to bring the conflict to an end."
In an interview with Axios, Trump said he expected to hear the views of regional allies at an upcoming UN meeting on what the next steps in the war should be.
He said that Iran remained in "direct contact" with the United States and stressed that the Iranians still wanted to reach a deal.
Trump expressed satisfaction that no ships had sailed to Iran since the naval blockade was imposed.
"They tried, and we blew them up," Trump said.
The US president said he might meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York next week, the Baha news portal reported.
