WASHINGTON, JULY 17 /SRNA/ - US President Donald Trump said that the costs of air pollution caused by wildfires must be added to the tariffs imposed on Canada.
"We hold Canada responsible for failing to properly maintain its forests and bushes while the United States is being unnecessarily hit by dirty, polluted and unhealthy air, the quality of which is dangerous and completely unacceptable," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He added that this was deliberate negligence that has become an annual occurrence and is costing the United States billions of dollars.
"The costs of this pollution must be added to the tariffs that Canada is currently paying," Trump wrote.
