TRUMP AND RUBIO TO ADVOCATE RESPECT FOR NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY

WASHINGTON, September 18 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will advocate for respect for national sovereignty during the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly, the State Department announced.

"Together with President Trump, Secretary Rubio will advocate for returning the UN to its core mandate - maintaining international peace and security while respecting national sovereignty," the statement said.

It added that Rubio would hold meetings with several counterparts on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, focusing, among other things, on security, the economy and support for peace efforts.

The General Debate will be held between September 22 and 28.
