WASHINGTON, OCTOBER 18 /SRNA-Reuters/ - A truck crashed into the area where a youth football match was being held in the US state of Kansas, killing a six-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man and injuring 10 people who were hospitalized with traumatic injuries, police said.
"The injuries range from minor to severe, but none are life-threatening," Wichita Police Captain Aaron Moses said at a news conference.
He said that two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Moses added that a 34-year-old woman drove the truck, which ended up in a field at the western end of the Stryker Sports Complex.
The police captain said that the woman was not cooperating with investigators and was currently in custody.
"We know what happened, but we are now trying to determine why it happened, and we have not yet found the answer," Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan said.
The woman driving the truck had a child who was playing soccer at the complex, but not on the field where the incident occurred.
