WASHINGTON, OCTOBER 18 /SRNA/ - US Vice President James David Vance said that immigration had led to unrest in France, arguing that liberals had ignored issues of assimilation and compatibility.

Vance posted a video on X showing the city hall in Limoges on fire.

"Western liberals have imported the Third World into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility," the US vice president wrote.

He added that they had been warned this would happen, but had refused to listen.

"I pray that France, a beautiful country with incredible people, stops this madness before more of its landmarks go up in flames," Vance said.

He added that he hoped "Americans are paying attention" and that "this is the future that congressional Democrats want for their country."

More than half a million people took to the streets in France yesterday to protest against the high cost of living, and hundreds were arrested during the unrest.

Looting, arson and property damage were reported in many cities, with masked rioters attacking town halls, police stations and other government buildings.
