TOYOTA RECALLS MORE THAN 48,000 VEHICLES FROM U.S. MARKET

WASHINGTON, AUGUST 18 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – Japanese automaker Toyota is recalling 48,280 vehicles in the United States due to the risk of the oil tank becoming detached, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

"Toyota is recalling certain 2024 and 2025 Tacoma vehicles. The metal brackets on the front and rear shock absorbers may corrode, which could lead to the oil tank becoming detached," the statement said.

Detachment of the external oil tank could pose a road hazard and increase the risk of a traffic accident, the Administration said.

"Authorized dealers will inspect the vehicles free of charge and, if necessary, replace the front and rear shock absorbers. Recall notices are expected to be sent to owners on September 21," the statement added.
