BEIJING, AUGUST 21 /SRNA-Reuters/ - Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla will carry out software updates on millions of vehicles in China, the Chinese market regulator said.
This is the company's largest vehicle recall to date in the Chinese market.
Starting September 25, Tesla will recall 2.98 million Model 3, Model Y and Model S vehicles manufactured in China or imported into the country because the emergency door-release handles may not be easily visible, potentially making it more difficult to exit the vehicle or carry out a rescue following a serious traffic accident or electrical system failure.
The measure includes placing labels on the handles and remotely updating the software so that the windows are lowered after a collision.
