SLOVAKIA WILL PROVIDE HUMANITARIAN, BUT NOT FINANCIAL AID TO KYIV

BRATISLAVA, JULY 8 /SRNA/ - Slovakia will provide humanitarian, but not financial aid to Ukraine, stated Slovak President Peter Pellegrini.

"This is a sovereign decision of each NATO member state and is not mandatory for all members of the Alliance, therefore Slovakia will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine. However, we will not assist financially and will not participate in the 70 billion euro package, just like several other countries," Pellegrini told reporters at the conclusion of the NATO summit in Ankara.

In the Ankara Summit Declaration, NATO allies committed to allocating 70 billion euros for military equipment, assistance, and training for Ukraine in 2026, and to maintaining their sovereign commitments at least at the same level in 2027, RIA Novosti recalls.
