RHEINMETALL BUILDING EUROPE'S BIGGEST GUNPOWDER PLANT

BERLIN, JULY 22 /SRNA/ - German defense company Rheinmetall will begin construction of one of Europe's largest gunpowder factories in southern Germany, the Ministry of Defense announced.

"One of the largest and most modern gunpowder factories in Europe is being built at Rheinmetall's historic production site in Aschau am Inn," says a press release.

It adds that approximately 90 hectares have been allocated for the new facility at the company's production site in Bavaria.

Rheinmetall said that the project aims to significantly expand the production of components for barrel artillery and other large-calibre weapons systems.
