RECORD-FAST SALES OF MEMOIRS BY PRINCESS DIANA'S BROTHER

LONDON, SEPTEMBER 22 /SRNA-Reuters/ - British buyers snapped up copies of the memoirs of Charles Spencer, the brother of late Princess Diana, titled "The Swan Song: Diana, My Sister," after claims about her troubled marriage to the current King Charles III attracted their attention.

Among other passages, the claims that attracted the most attention from British readers were allegations that the current British king, then Prince of Wales Charles, was elated by her death and that "in the hours after her death he sounded like a lottery winner".

Spencer, who delivered the famous eulogy at his sister's funeral in 1997, has attracted the attention of the world's media with a book in which he claims that Buckingham Palace played its role in Diana's death.

The book was published in Britain today, while claims from excerpts released ahead of the memoir's publication had been splashed across newspaper front pages for days, helping the book immediately climb to the top of Amazon's bestseller list.

Spencer describes his book as an intimate, loving and honest portrait of his sister, whom he says became a global icon overnight.
