PUTIN: SCALE OF GLOBAL CHANGES ENORMOUS

MOSCOW, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – Russian President Vladimir Putin says that enormous changes are taking place across the Globe, which humanity understands, but must learn how to live with the challenges that impose themselves.

Speaking at the plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin said that although humanity senses major changes, it has not yet fully grasped the scale of the challenges it is facing.

"This is the beginning of an absolutely new reality, thus the world still has to learn how to live and work with artificial intelligence," the Russian president stressed.

He added that every taboo in global politics is currently being broken, while international relations require precision and respect not only for the letter of the law but also for its spirit.

Putin said that a limited group of Western countries has a disproportionately large influence at the UN, resulting in an imbalance.

"I am sure that Russia was deliberately placed in a situation where it was simply forced to defend itself with weapons in response to this obvious aggression, and we were deliberately pushed to this point in the Ukrainian conflict," Putin said.

The Russian president said that BRICS and other new associations still have much work to do, but that they will contribute to building a multipolar world.

"If we want to live, and everyone wants to live, then, as I once said in a public speech, let us live in harmony and jointly seek ways to achieve this," Putin appealed.

He also called for joint efforts to find a way out of the conflict in Ukraine.

"Russia is building its own path toward the future and, of course, is ready to take part in this effort together with other countries and peoples of the world," Putin said.
