PORT OF DOVER BLOCKED BY MASKED PROTESTERS

LONDON, SEPTEMBER 5 /SRNA/ — A large group of masked protesters gathered at the Port of Dover in southeast England, with police confirming that officers were "confronting" the gathering in the area.

"We are aware of a protest currently taking place at the Port of Dover. Police are present and responding to the protesters," police said in a statement.

Videos circulating online show dozens of people at the port and on surrounding streets, dressed in black and wearing balaclavas.

The Port of Dover posted on X that the disruption was affecting "all routes" and vessels arriving and departing.

Vehicles were brought to a standstill on roads leading to the port.

There is currently no information on who is behind the protest.
