PESKOV: MOSCOW REMAINS OPEN TO NEGOTIATIONS WITH KYIV

MOSCOW, OCTOBER 2 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - Russia remains open to negotiations with Ukraine, but Kyiv shows no readiness to reach a comprehensive agreement, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The Russian side is always open to negotiations, but the situation regarding the Black Sea is specific," Peskov told reporters.

He reminded of the Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement that Russia needs a lasting peace, not a ceasefire.

"Partial agreements cannot bring us closer to a peaceful settlement - any agreement must be comprehensive," Peskov added.
