PESKOV: MOSCOW HOPES U.S. PEACE EFFORTS WILL BEAR FRUIT

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 12 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – US peace efforts on Ukraine have increased, and Russia hopes they will yield results, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

"There are US peace efforts, for which we are very grateful. They are continuing and have now intensified again. We sincerely hope that these efforts will yield results," Peskov told Izvestia.

He noted that there is still no trade or economic cooperation between Russia and the United States, nor are there any joint projects currently being implemented.

There is an understanding that restoring trade and economic cooperation would benefit both Russia and the United States, as well as "significant interest" among companies, the Kremlin spokesperson said.

Peskov added that it is still not known whether such cooperation will be restored before the situation in Ukraine is resolved.
