STOCKHOLM, AUGUST 22 /SRNA/ — Swedish police are investigating whether an 18-year-old man who attacked students with a sword at a secondary school yesterday, killing one person, was a member of online communities that promote violence in schools, a police source said.

The source told Reuters that police are investigating whether a TikTok account that posted a photograph of a sword 20 minutes before the attack belonged to the suspect.

According to Dagens Nyheter, the photograph appears to have been taken in a school bathroom. The attack took place at a school in Fagersta, a town in central Sweden.

Before it was removed on Friday, the month-old account also contained videos referring to two mass attacks in Sweden and Norwegian far-right mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik.

The attacker seriously wounded two teenagers before being arrested by police.

The parents of a 17-year-old girl told local newspaper Fagersta Posten that their daughter was killed in the attack.

Prosecutors ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody on suspicion of murder and several attempted murders.
