NUNEZ: 70,000 SECURITY PERSONNEL TO BE DEPLOYED

PARIS, OCTOBER 23 /SRNA – Reuters/ – French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said that 70,000 security personnel would be deployed across the country to maintain public order during protests scheduled for tomorrow.

He told press that the far left had called for looting and violence.

"Look at social media. There have been calls from the far left to attack public buildings. We are not talking about a peaceful protest," Nuñez stressed.

He adds the state is ready to take a "firm" stance tomorrow and that it "would tolerate nothing".
