MOSCOW, OCTOBER 12 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – Global diesel prices have already fallen by five to six per cent, and additional diesel supplies are expected by the end of the year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.
"Additional supplies from Russia to global markets will increase volumes and partially balance supply and demand. We are already seeing this reflected in global diesel prices, which have adjusted and are now five to six per cent lower," Novak said.
He added that global diesel prices had nearly doubled since the beginning of the year.
Novak specified that Russia would supply between three and three-and-a-half million tonnes of diesel fuel to the global market each month until the end of the year.
Russia, Novak says, has supplied energy products worth 21.3 billion US dollars to the European Union this year.
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by telephone with US President Donald Trump on Friday. The US leader said that an agreement had been reached during the talks on the supply of diesel fuel from Russia.
Trump added that the USA was very pleased to receive Russian diesel fuel, which it needs.
