PARIS, OCTOBER 13 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – A total of 147 education workers have been injured in France since student protests began in September, the newspaper Le Monde reported, citing data from the French Ministry of Education.

The newspaper reported that 20 people were injured yesterday alone, including five school principals.

This is the second-highest number of education workers injured in a single day since the demonstrations began, Le Monde reported.

Secondary school students in France are protesting against overloaded timetables, teacher shortages and other problems in the education system. The demonstrations have also been accompanied by unrest at several locations.

According to the latest figures, more than 6,800 people have been detained in total, most of them minors.
