MOSCOW'S RESPONSE TO CLOSURE OF CONSULATE IN BONN WILL BE HARSH

VLADIVOSTOK, SEPTEMBER 2 /SRNA/ - Russia’s response to the closure of its Consulate General in Bonn will be harsh, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned.

Zakharova told RIA Novosti that no one should doubt Russia’s response.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said Germany’s decision had put the work of its Consulate General in St. Petersburg and the Goethe-Institut at risk.

“Severing diplomatic relations between Russia and Germany is not currently being considered,” Grushko stressed.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said yesterday that Germany would close the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and terminate the agreement on the Russian House in Berlin.

Earlier, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt baselessly accused Russia of being involved in a drone incident at Leipzig Airport.
