HELSINKI, OCTOBER 10 /SRNA/ – The agreement between the United States and Russia on fuel supplies is good news for the world and global markets, Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s national-conservative Freedom Party, has assessed.
In a post on X, he stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was deeply disappointed by the agreement, describing it as a gift to Moscow, and had continued attacking oil refineries in Russia despite US President Donald Trump’s requests that he refrain from doing so.
"Such decisions by Zelensky will undermine the trust of the US administration, which is actively working to end this conflict. A meeting between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could also take place in China. The world needs good relations between the United States and Russia," Mema stressed.
Mema said that President Putin had made an extraordinary gesture of generosity towards the world in an effort to stabilize prices on the global oil market.
The US Department of the Treasury announced yesterday that it had issued a temporary general licence allowing Russian diesel to be supplied to the global market.
The US Treasury licence permits the sale of Russian diesel until April 7 next year.
Following a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump yesterday, Putin confirmed that Russia was ready to supply oil and petroleum products to the US and global markets, emphasizing that this would have a positive impact on the global economy.
