MOSCOW CALLS ON REPRESENTATIVES OF MORE THAN 100 COUNTRIES TO MONITOR ELECTIONS

MOSCOW, AUGUST 20 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - Moscow has called on representatives of 12 international organisations and more than 100 countries to monitor the elections to the State Duma, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"This year, calls for the aforementioned September elections were sent to representatives of 12 international organisations and more than 100 countries," Zakharova said at a press conference.

She added that representatives of 55 countries have so far expressed their readiness to come to Russia to monitor the elections.
