MOSCOW, OCTOBER 7 /SRNA/ - Around 223,000 Ukrainians left the country between January and June this year, according to data from Ukraine's border service.

A total of around 7.13 million exits from Ukraine and around 6.91 million entries into the country were recorded in the first half of the year.

The outflow of people from Ukraine has continued for several years, although the border remains closed to a significant part of the population - men of conscription age.

Between seven and eight million people left the country in 2022, around 180,000 the following year, around 460,000 in 2024, and approximately 302,000 last year.

The exact number of people remaining in the territory controlled by Kyiv is unknown, as the last population census was conducted in 2001.

According to various estimates, the figure is between 20 million and 30 million people, TASS reported.
