PARIS, OCTOBER 19 /SRNA/ – France's Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies, Anne Le Henanff, has urged online marketplaces to remove listings for "stolen items" following protests and called representatives of companies including Vinted and eBay to a meeting.

France was rocked by its worst street violence in several years over the weekend. Authorities said more than 3,000 businesses had been damaged, while photographs of various items stolen during the unrest began appearing online yesterday.

"Items stolen over the weekend have appeared for sale on certain platforms, and I expect them to remove these listings without delay," Le Henanff posted on X.

She called a meeting with representatives of six platforms, to be attended by officials from the Interior and Justice ministries.

According to France's Ministry of Trade, representatives of Vinted, Amazon, eBay, Leboncoin, Meta, TikTok and the French e-commerce association Fevad were invited.

The unrest in France followed weeks of student protests demanding better conditions in schools, AFP reported.
