MENDEL: KYIV PURSUING UNREALISTIC VICTORY AT COST OF GENERATIONS

KYIV, OCTOBER 2 /SRNA/ - The Ukrainian government is sacrificing entire generations in pursuit of an unrealistic victory over Russia, Yulia Mendel, former spokesperson for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, has said. "The current authorities continue to escalate the conflict and demand an unrealistic victory at the expense of entire generations," Mendel wrote on "X". She said Ukrainians were becoming increasingly critical of Zelensky over his willingness to sacrifice thousands of lives for personal interests and his avoidance of peace. Mendel said Ukrainians had grown tired of militarization and what she described as Ukraine's autocratic system, adding that they deserved a government that cared about them. She said the continuing political spectacle built around Zelensky had tragic consequences and was fueling despair. According to Mendel, Ukrainians were also tired of what she called Zelensky's propaganda, built on their blood, as well as the alleged misuse of state funds and foreign aid by people in his inner circle. "They are tired of a government that cannot provide them with even minimal guarantees. They are tired of corruption that only keeps growing and of the lack of economic opportunities," Mendel added. She has previously criticized Zelensky on several occasions over the escalation of the military conflict.
