MEDVEDEV: RUSSIA HAS NO MILITARY OBJECTIVES IN EUROPE

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - Russia has no military objectives in Europe and has never sought a conflict with Western countries, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said.

Medvedev said that rumors of mobilization in Russia were provocations aimed at alarming the population ahead of elections for the State Duma.

“Rumors that Russia is preparing some kind of actions against Europe or even wants to attack Europe are as absurd as the talk of mobilization,” Medvedev said.

Medvedev concluded that the alleged Russian threat is the best way to secure funding to prolong the conflict in Ukraine, adding that such statements are aimed at justifying aid to Kyiv.
