MOSCOW, OCTOBER 16 /SRNA-RIA Novosti/ – Confirmation of Kyiv's involvement in the Nord Stream sabotage would provide further grounds for Germany to stop providing aid to Ukraine, Bundestag member Stefan Kotre of the Alternative for Germany /AfD/ party told RIA Novosti.
"Germany should have already stopped providing military aid to Ukraine for other reasons as well. This is not our war. Of course, this would be an additional reason," Kotre said.
The Higher Regional Court in Hamburg concluded the first hearing earlier this week in the case of Ukrainian national Serhii Kuznietsov, who is accused of coordinating the placement of explosives on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The hearing lasted just over two hours.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said Berlin would take the outcome of the trial into account when making political decisions concerning Ukraine.
