PARIS, AUGUST 4 /SRNA–RIA Novosti/ – July 2026 was the hottest month ever recorded in France in the past 126 years, announced the French national meteorological service, Météo-France.
"July 2026 was the hottest month ever recorded in France since meteorological records began in 1900. The average monthly temperature reached a record 24.9 degrees Celsius, which is 3.8 degrees above the 1991–2020 average," Météo-France cited in a statement.
Last month was also the second sunniest July on record and the third driest, with a 70 percent rainfall deficit, which is why soil moisture depletion reached record levels.
