ISRAEL PREPARING TO RETURN PART OF TERRITORY TO LEBANON

NEW YORK, JULY 10 /SRNA/ - Israeli authorities are preparing to return part of the territories seized by the Israeli military to Lebanon, CNN reports, citing an unnamed official from the administration of the US President Donald Trump.

The report states that the first "pilot zone" will be returned to Lebanese control in the next few days, while the remaining zones are currently being determined and their return to Beirut's control is planned.

The official noted that the US Central Command is coordinating the actions with the Israeli and Lebanese authorities.

According to him, the US will soon begin contacting international partners to help the Lebanese Government effectively restore sovereignty in these zones and throughout Lebanon, and negotiations in this regard will be held behind closed doors in Rome next week.
