INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION OPERATIONS EXTENDED FOR ANOTHER TWO YEARS

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 22 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - Russia and the United States will extend the operation of the International Space Station /ISS/ for two years, director general of Russia’s state space corporation Roscosmos Dmitry Bakanov said.

"Our American colleagues approached us, since the International Space Station currently consists of two segments - Russian and American - and asked us to extend its operation from 2028 to 2030. We agreed to their request and will extend its operation for another two years," Bakanov said during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Bakanov added that the decision would not affect the timelines set for the construction of Russia's orbital station.
