PARIS, JUNE 3 /SRNA/ - Global economic growth is expected to slow from 3.4 percent in 2025 to 2.8 percent this year, before recovering to 3.1 percent next year, according to the new Economic Survey of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development /OECD/.

"Although the world economy entered 2026 stronger than many expected, the conflict in the Middle East has become the dominant force shaping global economic circumstances," the OECD states.

The report adds that the further development of the conflict is uncertain, while its economic consequences will probably be felt for some time after the end of the war.

The OECD based its analysis on two possible scenarios: a time-limited and relatively short disruption and a prolonged disruption with wider and much more lasting negative consequences, Xinhua news agency reports.

According to the baseline scenario, the OECD predicts a slowdown in global economic growth to 2.8 percent this year.
