GLEN HANSARD DIED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH

DUBLIN, JULY 29 /SRNA/ - Irish musician Glen Hansard has died at the age of 56 in a motorcycle crash west of Dublin, Irish media reported.

Reports from Radio Newstalk and Irish Independent stated that Hansard was involved in a car accident while riding his motorcycle.

Irish police said that a man in his 50s died while riding a motorcycle and that there were no other participants in the accident.

Hansard was taken to hospital, but was soon pronounced dead.

The Irish musician was best known for being the lead singer of the rock band The Frames, and won an Oscar for best song in the film Once, in which he also starred.
