BERLIN, JUNE 21 /SRNA/ – Germany has increased deportations to Afghanistan following technical-level talks between representatives of the Federal Ministry of Interior and Afghanistan's Taliban-led government.

German Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said that anyone who abuses Germany's protection and commits serious crimes in the country must seek their future in their homeland.

He added that the deportation of criminals to Afghanistan is being carried out regularly and reliably.

“Our society has a legitimate interest in ensuring that criminals leave our country. This policy will be implemented consistently,” Dobrindt told Bild.

Last week, 32 offenders were deported to Afghanistan on a charter flight.

Since the beginning of the year, three flights carrying Afghan nationals deported from Germany have arrived in Kabul, and up to three charter flights per month are expected to be available in the future.

Germany’s Interior Ministry stated that its goal is to establish a permanent air transport system for deportations, under which serious criminals and individuals considered a threat to public security, currently detained in Germany, would be returned to Afghanistan.

Around 200 criminal offenders have been deported from Germany to Afghanistan since 2024.
