GATES: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE COULD LEAD TO THE DEATHS OF ONE BILLION PEOPLE

WASHINGTON, September 25 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - American entrepreneur and Microsoft founder Bill Gates said he believes that artificial intelligence could lead to events resulting in the deaths of one billion people.

"Artificial intelligence is certainly powerful enough to trigger events that could lead to the deaths of one billion people. Humanity has never possessed a weapon as powerful as the combination of people with bad intentions using the latest artificial intelligence tools," Gates said in an interview.

He called for legal restrictions on the use of the technology.
