FRENCHMAN CONVICTED OF PARTICIPATING IN TWIN TOWERS ATTACKS SEEKS TO SERVE SENTENCE IN FRANCE

WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 4 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - French national Zacarias Moussaoui, convicted for his role in the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers in New York on September 11, 2001, has requested permission to serve the remainder of his sentence in France, French media outlet RCM reported.

The convicted man's lawyer, Romain Ruiz, said that his client, who is serving a life sentence at a prison in Colorado, was subjected to a biased investigation and that his human rights were violated.

He added that Moussaoui, who is now 58, is not seeking to be released, but wants the possibility of continuing to serve his sentence in his home country.
