EUROSTAT: EU DOUBLES IMPORT OF RUSSIAN LNG IN MARCH

MOSCOW, MAY 19 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - The EU almost doubled its monthly import of liquefied natural gas /LNG/ from Russia in March, for which it paid more than 900 million dollars, according to Eurostat data.

For comparison, EU members imported Russian LNG worth 508.3 million dollars in February.

The biggest buyers of Russian LNG in the EU were Spain /358.9 million dollars/, France /320.4 million dollars/ and Belgium /253.8 million dollars/.

The total value of Russian LNG imports to EU countries reached the highest level since January 2025.
