ESPRIELLA: EARTHQUAKE CLAIMS 111 LIVES

BOGOTA, AUGUST 10 /SRNA/ - A powerful earthquake in Colombia has claimed 111 lives, Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella said.

He said that 87 people had been injured.

An earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale struck western Colombia today, affecting several cities and causing extensive material damage.
