DEMOCRATS TAKE CONTROL OF CONGRESS

WASHINGTON, NOVEMBER 4 /SRNA/ – The Democratic Party has taken control of both chambers of the US Congress from the Republican Party, according to election results reported by the BBC.

According to projected seat allocations, Democrats will hold 53 seats in the Senate, while Republicans will have 41. In the House of Representatives, the Democratic Party will have 219 members, while the Republican Party will have 126.

US President Donald Trump told Fox News that Democrats had "done a good job" and acknowledged that the war with Iran and higher fuel prices had played a role in the Republicans' defeat.

"I wasn't on the ballot; if I had been, we would have won by a landslide!" Trump posted on social media.

He announced that he would now become Mr. Veto, as he can use his presidential veto powers to prevent any bill passed by Congress from becoming law. However, Democrats can now also block any legislation Trump wants to pass.

In the Senate race, Democrats secured a series of victories in Republican strongholds, including Texas, Ohio and Kansas, which had last elected Democrats nearly 100 years ago.
