KATHMANDU, AUGUST 26 /SRNA/ - At least 31 people have been killed in floods in northern Nepal, according to police.
“According to the latest official data, 93 people have been injured, 31 have died, and 93 have been rescued,” police said in a statement.
Nepal’s Tourism Board said earlier today that more than 380 tourists have gone missing in the floods in the country, TASS reported.
The floods hit northern Nepal early this morning.
According to preliminary reports, the flooding was caused by an avalanche of snow and rocks near the Nepal-China border, around 20 kilometres northeast of the Rasuwagadhi border crossing.
