SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 25 /SRNA/ - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac said today in Sarajevo that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s policies in recent years had shown how Serbia and Republika Srpska could best cooperate and that it deserved the support of voters in today’s elections.

"We have witnessed the political cohesion established over the past several years between the leaderships of Republika Srpska and Serbia, to the pride of all Serbs in the region. I believe that the political partnership and alignment between President /Milorad/ Dodik and President Vučić has provided an example of good practice in addressing important national, economic and other issues," Košarac told reporters after casting his ballot in Sarajevo.

He stressed that this policy should be continued in the interests of Serbs in the region, united around the declaration adopted at the All-Serbian Assembly, which reflects their national orientation and national and strategic priorities.

Recalling that voters in Republika Srpska had backed Dodik’s policies in the general elections on October 4, Košarac expressed confidence that voters in Serbia would support Vučić’s policies today.

"I believe that, based on the important economic policies pursued by Serbia’s leadership in recent years, particularly its foreign policy, the citizens of Serbia will support a policy that is highly significant and important, and that reflects President Vučić’s political agenda," Košarac said.

Noting that it is well known in BiH that Serbia is a regional leader on many issues, Košarac concluded that citizens of Serbia should be guided by this fact as well.

Early parliamentary elections are being held in Serbia today, with around 6.5 million registered voters eligible to cast ballots for a new parliament.

Candidates from 18 electoral lists are competing for 250 seats in the National Assembly.
