LONDON, JULY 15 /SRNA-Reuters/ - British police have charged a 14-year-old boy with a terrorism offence linked to far-right extremist ideology over an alleged plot to attack two mosques in south London.
The boy was arrested last week over damage to a car, but during a search police found documents that led to the charge of "planning and intending to carry out acts of terrorism."
"This is a very serious terrorism charge against a boy, and it is likely to be a matter of great concern for the public and the local community," said Helen Flanagan, head of Counter-Terrorism Policing London.
Police said they do not believe the case indicates a wider threat, but have offered support to the mosques.
