BODIES OF NINE MIGRANTS RECOVERED NEAR TRIPOLI

TRIPOLI, AUGUST 18 /SRNA/ - The bodies of nine migrants have been recovered from the sea near the Libyan capital Tripoli in the last two days after the boat they were travelling in sank, the Red Crescent in Tripoli said.

The statement said the bodies were recovered from the water near Tajura, about 22 kilometers from Tripoli.

Red Crescent spokesman in Tripoli Muad Zurgani told Reuters that there were 19 people on the boat and that more bodies were expected to appear near the coast.

Zurgani added that the search and rescue operation was continuing.
