DOBOJ, MAY 25 /SRNA/ - The first-round matches of the qualifying stage for the ITF M15 tennis tournament "Doboj Open 2025" has begun today in Doboj. The tournament has a prize fund of $15,000.

The tournament director, Dragan Dragičević, told SRNA that 47 players will compete in the three-day qualification stage.

He stated that the main draw matches, featuring 32 players, will be played from Tuesday, May 27, to Sunday, June 1.

“The top seed of the tournament is Doboj native Andrej Nedić, ranked 477 on the ATP list, and the second seed is Ukrainian Viacheslav Bielinskyi, ranked 542,” said Dragičević.

He added that the 18th edition of the ITF M15 tournament in Doboj will feature as many as 15 players from BiH, including Doboj Tennis Club juniors Nikša Smiljanić and Filip Jevtić in the qualifiers.

“Players are coming from more than 20 countries, including not only those from Europe but also from Japan, Argentina, Canada, the United States, and Australia,” Dragičević noted.

The tournament supervisor is Vladimir Erg, the organiser is the Doboj Tennis Club with the City of Doboj as the main sponsor.

The tournament winner will receive not only a cash prize but also 15 ATP points.

The Doboj ITF M15 Futures is listed as an event of special importance for Republika Srpska and, along with the International TV Champions Handball Tournament, is one of the most significant events held in Doboj annually.

Last year's singles winner was Frenchman Lilian Marmousez, while the doubles title was won by the Croatian pair Marino Jakić and Mili Poljičak.
