JÜRGEN KLOPP NAMED NEW GERMANY HEAD COACH

BERLIN, JULY 24 /SRNA/ - The German Football Association /DFB/ has appointed Jürgen Klopp as the new head coach of the national team, bringing an end to speculation over who would succeed Julian Nagelsmann.

DFB President Bernd Neuendorf said the association's governing bodies had unanimously approved Klopp's appointment, describing him as the ideal choice for the role.

"It is a great honour to be here today. The national team can unite us Germans like almost nothing else. That is precisely what makes this role so special to me. We will take on this challenge together, with patience," Klopp said at a news conference.

Germany turned to Jürgen Klopp to usher in a new era for the four-time world champions following their disappointing exit from the World Cup.

Nagelsmann stepped down after Germany's penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay in the Round of 16 of the World Cup.
