FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF SERBIA SUPPORTS UEFA'S POSITION IN DISPUTE WITH FIFA

BELGRADE, JULY 30 /SRNA/ - The Football Association of Serbia /FSS/ has supported UEFA's position rejecting FIFA's proposal to transfer ownership stakes in the World Cup and other competitions of football's world governing body to private investors, the FSS said.

"We have firmly stood with UEFA at this crucial moment, committed to unity in defending the values, integrity and togetherness of world football, above any individual financial interests," FSS Secretary General Branko Radujko said, adding that he was among the first at the UEFA meeting to present the position of the Football Association of Serbia.

UEFA and all 55 of its member associations said they would not participate in competitions organised under the auspices of the football's world governing body /FIFA/ unless it abandons its proposal to transfer ownership stakes in the World Cup and other competitions to private investors.
