SARAJEVO, MAY 19 /SRNA/ - The Head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Sanja Vulić, told SRNA that the Ministry of Security in the Council of Ministers is responsible and should act regarding the opening of the border crossing on the new bridge in Gradiška.
"The Ministry of Security should state that all conditions for opening the crossing have been met, and in that case, the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH would only need to provide the necessary staff," Vulić said.
She explained that claims about the absence of a new staffing structure, the adoption of which is allegedly being blocked by "the gentleman from the Federation of BiH," Zijad Krnjić, are unfounded because there are enough employees who can be reassigned.
"Who is currently working at the Gradiška border crossing, and why can’t those same people simply be transferred to the new crossing? Everything else regarding staffing structure is just an excuse," Vulić said.
Commenting on the collapse of the concrete structure and railing, which caused a complete suspension of cross-border traffic for all vehicles and pedestrians in Gradiška, she said that people are suffering and that the situation has become inhumane for all who use this border crossing.
"This clearly shows that representatives from the Federation of BiH use everything for political purposes, including this border crossing, and they absolutely do not care about the development of any part of BiH, especially not the development of Republika Srpska," Vulić said.
She previously submitted a parliamentary question to the Chairman of the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, Srđan Amidžić, asking him to clarify the formal role of the Management Board concerning the opening of the border crossing in Gradiška. She also stressed that, according to the Law on Border Control, the Ministry of Security has the authority to designate a temporary border crossing.
