TRIŠIĆ BABIĆ: SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 WAS A DAY THAT CHANGED AMERICA AND WORLD

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ - September 11, 2001, was a day that changed the United States and the world, but the Serb people had already faced radical Islamism in the 1990s, when they fought against such evil and paid a high price, Acting Director of the Republika Srpska Office for International Cooperation Ana Trišić Babić said.

Trišić Babić said that today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the day that changed the United States, but also the world.

She stressed that we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent victims of the terrorist attacks and pay our respects to their families and the American people.

“For us Serbs, the fight against terrorism is not something we started learning about after September 11. We faced radical Islamism, an ideology of hatred and the crimes it produces, in this region as far back as the 1990s, when the Serb people fought against such evil and paid a high price,” Trišić Babić wrote on X.

She stressed that the Serbs’ voice was not heard enough at the time and that it took decades for many facts to begin to be discussed more openly.

“That is why we need to speak clearly about that experience today, in our own voice. That is why, on this day, as we remember the victims of September 11, we have a deep understanding of what the American people and the United States went through,” Trišić Babić said.

According to her, there is no justification for terrorism, and there must be no double standards or forgotten victims in the fight against it.
