TREBEVIĆ, CREPOLJSKO AND VUČIJA LUKA - TOURIST GEMS

ISTOČNI STARI GRAD, AUGUST 31 /SRNA/ - Istočni Stari Grad is adorned with natural beauty, primarily the Olympic mountain Trebević, and this municipality can brag about the tourist gems such as Vučija Luka, Crepoljsko and Bulozi, Branka Petronić, director of the municipal Tourist Organization, told SRNA.

"Apart from our gem Trebević, we must mention our authentic villages Vučija Luka and Bulozi, which cherish special tradition and history, and Crepoljsko is also fantastic as a beautiful air spa," said Petronić.

She emphasized that Trebević, as already recognized tourist attraction, the favourite picnic area for many people, and it is only 10 kilometres away from the Sarajevo downtown, and it is also in the vicinity of Pale, Jahorina and Ravna Planina.

BRUS SPORTS AND RECREATIN CENTRE - IDEAL FOR FAMILY VACATION

According to her, the municipal administration and the local tourist organization are very proud on numerous facilities for active tourism and staying in untouched nature and fresh air.

"Currently, the cycling path is being built, and it will connect Istočni Stari Grad and Pale, and we plan to expand the cycling paths on Trebević, as well as catering facilities, and to improve sports, cultural and education content for all generations," said Petronić.

She suggests the tourists not to miss the Brus Sports and Recreation Centre, which has very interesting content for children, as well as for people who like active vacation, cycling, mountaineering, hiking and picking medicinal herbs.

According to her, tourists have been delighted by the Sunnyland destination for some time now with its exceptional adrenaline-filled attractions such as an alpine coaster, a zip coaster, and a giant swing, which is one of Trebević's new attractions.

The Director of the Istočni Stari Grad Tourist Organization announced the expansion of marked hiking and mountaineering trails, as well as the construction of new ski trails.

EXCELLENT GASTRONOMY OFFER

Petronić emphasized that the catering establishments on Trebević have an excellent gastronomic offer, consisting of healthy organic food prepared according to local and international recipes. She said that an additional advantage is the fact that the offer is based on traditional agricultural food production, including livestock and poultry farming.

She added that the municipal administration is also paying close attention to the reconstruction and construction of new road links in the area of this extremely underdeveloped local community.

CREPOLJSKO - IDEAL SANCTUARY FOR THOSE WHO SEEK PEACE

Petronić pointed out that at an altitude of 1,470 meters, at the place where the magnificent mountain ranges of Ozren and Romanija meet, there is Crepoljsko, another gem of the municipality of Istocni Stari Grad.

According to her, this air spa is an ideal haven for anyone seeking peace, fresh air, and the opportunity to enjoy natural beauty.

The Crepoljsko peak, with its 1,524 meters above sea level, offers an incredible view of the surrounding landscape and the city of Sarajevo. Thanks to the dense coniferous forests that surround it, Crepoljsko is a perfect place for lovers of hiking, mountaineering and cycling.

For rest and refreshment, Petronić pointed out, tourists can visit the Crepoljsko Hunting Lodge, which represents an authentic example of a rural setting, stating that, in the future, this facility has the potential to become a centre of rural tourism with a wide range of quality services.

The Municipal Administration of Istočni Stari Grad believes that Crepoljsko is not only an ideal place for recreation, but also a natural spa that has a beneficial effect on health, especially for people with thyroid disorders.

The municipality is actively working on the promotion and improvement of Crepoljsko, in order to put it back on the map of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the region, and in the coming years it plans to develop trails, install information boards, and organize events that will attract visitors from all areas.

VUČIJA LUKA - EXCEPTIONAL FOR THOSE WHO LIKE HUNTING

Petronić also mentioned Vučija Luka, which abounds in rich flora and fauna, providing excellent opportunities for hunting enthusiasts. She states that hunting wolves, foxes, wild boars, hares and roe deer is particularly popular.

She said that tourists can spend their vacation actively here in various ways, and that, in addition to cycling and hiking, it is possible to pick mushrooms and various types of teas and herbs.

Petronić noted that the Church of Saint Pantaleon is located in Vučija Luka, which is an important spiritual center of the municipality of Istočni Stari Grad.

According to her, this church is also a place of gathering and support for believers from the region.

Next to the church itself, the church complex also houses a parish hall, which is a centre for organizing cultural and sports events regularly organized by the municipality.

"The municipality's patron saint, which is celebrated on August 9, as well as the `Jagnjiada` event, are held in its yard, which further connects it to the life and traditions of our local community," she pointed out. /to be continued/
