SUPPORT FOR ESTABLISHING UNA WILD RIVER NATIONAL PARK

KOZARSKA DUBICA, OCTOBER 29 /SRNA/ - Kozarska Dubica supports the initiative to establish a new national park, Una Wild River, which aims to protect the Una from source to mouth, covering around 650 kilometers of waterways through BiH and Croatia.

"Kozarska Dubica, as a municipality that shares the natural beauty and wealth of the Una River, supports initiatives aimed at its preservation, sustainable development and the promotion of eco-tourism," said Marijana Kotur, director of the Kozarska Dubica Tourist Organization.

She added that, with the establishment of the new national park, the Una could become only the second protected wild river of its kind in the world.

Kotur stressed that preserving the Una is not only about caring for nature, but also a responsibility towards future generations.

The Kozarska Dubica Municipality Tourist Organization took part in the presentation of the conceptual design for the new Una Wild River national park, held in Novi Grad.

Croatia intends to build a radioactive and nuclear waste storage facility at Trgovska Gora, right on the border with BiH and Republika Srpska, that is, the Una River.
