STEVANDIĆ: SRPSKA OFFICIALS’ DIPLOMATIC OFFENSIVE HAS JUST BEGUN

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 24 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić says Republika Srpska officials' diplomatic offensive has just begun.

"We have only just started," Stevandić told the press.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the referendum on whether January 9 should be celebrated as Republika Srpska Day, he said he was grateful to those who, 10 years ago, had attempted to challenge the holding of the referendum because the day had never been celebrated more widely.

"Never has it been celebrated more beautifully, on such a large scale or more magnificently. Never have more flags been displayed, and there have never been more parades. I am grateful to those who tried to challenge it. These 10 years show that it has been a great success," Stevandić emphasized.

The referendum in which Republika Srpska citizens voted on whether January 9 should be observed and celebrated as Republika Srpska Day was held on September 25, 2016, with 99.81 percent of those who voted answering "yes".
