STEVANDIĆ: SHOWING STRENGTH IN GRIEF AND NOT ALLOWING DISCRIMINATION AGAINST SERB VICTIMS IMPORTANT

BRATUNAC, JULY 5 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić emphasizes it is important for Serbs to show strength and resilience even in grief, and not allow discrimination against Serb victims, especially since most of them were civilians -women, children, and the elderly.

"We have empathy for the victims of others and we do not prevent other nations from organising commemorative gatherings on our territory, but we do not allow the Serb victims be humiliated and disregarded. It is also important for understanding the context of everything that happened later during the war in this part of Republika Srpska," Stevandić stressed.

He stated that anniversaries of all Serb suffering during the Defensive-Patriotic War, as well as in all wars, must be marked in an organised and dignified manner.

Stevandić pointed out that a high price was paid because Serbs were always on the right side.

"Eternal remembrance for the 3,267 Serb victims from central Podrinje and Birač, who were killed defending their homes," Stevandić posted on X /formerly Twitter/.

Today, Stevandić attended the commemoration in Bratunac marking the 33rd anniversary of the suffering of the Serb people in central Podrinje and Birač.
